The Goalie's Gambit

The game is about to start. Another in this contentious series, Vancouver versus Boston. Starting for the Canucks, their star goalie, Roberto Luongo, is back in net. Head coach Alain Vigneault stated yesterday he has full confidence in his team's captain. On the ice with Luongo (and Vigneault) are Daniel Sedin and Alex Burrows, and on defence, Alex Edler and Kevin Bieksa.

For Boston, the rock solid Tim Thomas will be in net, accompanied by feisty Brad Marchand, Mark Recchi and defenders Captain Zdeno Chara and Dennis Seidenberg. Head coach Claude Julien likes his chances this game thanks to the bruising momentum his squad has created in these finals. Tonight's game is sure to be a doozy.

Also on the ice tonight are referees Dan O'Halloran and Kelly Sutherland, and linesmen Jean Morin and Pierre Racicot.

File this under 'curious,' you may have noticed neither of the teams' centers are on the ice yet. Henrik Sedin and Patrice Bergeron are nowhere to be seen. It's a mystery. Guess we're going to have a little four-on-four tonight.
